Mitta means “Friendship” in ancient Pali language. Mitta value is great Friendship with everyone involved in the making and purchasing of Mitta products.
Love and Hope Bridging the World is the motto.
Established in 2011, Mitta inspired by the vitality and the diversity of African culture uses African Ankara wax print fabrics purchased from local market in Douala Cameroun. Working together with APAN (Association pour la Promotion de l’Artisanat et de la Nature) producing series of products, bridging distances between different cultures with the vivid and colourful stories told in these fabrics.
I served as the Director and Designer of Mitta African Fabric Creations, where I was responsible for developing the brand’s visual identity, crafting brand guidelines, shaping its narrative, and implementing marketing strategies, including social media campaigns. I also built strong relationships with stakeholders, such as APAN, to oversee the production and realisation of Mitta’s unique products.
As a selected participant of the prestigious Young Blood Designer Market at the Powerhouse Museum, I was honoured with the Cultural Award and Young Designer of the Year Award in recognition of my work celebrating African Australian culture. Additionally, I showcased my designs at African Fashion Week Melbourne, where I coordinated product photoshoots and collaborated with photographers, make-up artists, stylists, and models to bring the brand’s vision to life.
